VSR Education | We create tomorrow's talents

VSR's educational program is based on three foundations:
  • Basic knowledge,
  • Market-oriented knowledge and
  • Recent research findings.

Educational Programs

VSR and its educational programs are internationally aligned and linked in order to meet the requirements of today's global knowledge society.

The professorship offers 7 courses, several seminars and practical courses within its Diploma, Bachelor and Master programs on Computer Science, "Parallel and Distributed Systems" and "Data & Web Engineering".

These courses and topics are:

  • Computer Networks (in German: "Rechnernetze") - an introduction to communication technology, Internet, and Web
  • XML-tools (in German: "XML-Werkzeuge") - focusing on XML and Semantic Web
  • Design of Distributed Systems (in German: "Entwurf Verteilter Systeme")
  • Security of Distributed Systems (in German: "Sicherheit Verteilter Systeme")
  • Protocols of Distributed Systems (in German: "Protokolle Verteilter Systeme")
  • Management of Distributed Systems (in German: "Management Verteilter Systeme")
  • Architecture of Distributed Systems (in German: "Architektur Verteilter Systeme")

Mentoring

The professorship offers numerous research topics for Diplom, Bachelors, Master, and PhD students within areas related to the Internet and the World Wide Web.

Additionally, the chair offers training on the job opportunities to students as student assistants (Studentische Hilfskraft).

International Partnerships

Furthermore, cooperation with industry partners and international research facilities are promoted, including universities in Argentina, Australia, USA and a number of countries in Europe.
